Adams Receives Highest PEO Trade Association Award

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO) presented Robert G. Adams, chairman of Adams Keegan, Inc., Memphis, Tennessee, with the 2011 Michaeline A. Doyle Award at its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, last month. The award is the association's highest honor and recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary leadership and service to association and industry activities and whose philosophy encompasses raising industry standards as well as those of his own company.
"Since 1997, Adams has given generously of his time and resources as an active volunteer and leader within the PEO industry," said Brent Tilson, a NAPEO board member, who presented the award. "He was instrumental in leading NAPEO's PR and marketing efforts in 2008, has remained active in state and federal government affairs throughout his tenure as a NAPEO member, and has been highly effective as a board member and president of the association."
Adams is also noted for being an advocate for increasing professionalism in the PEO industry, and has led by example both in his company's operations and in his efforts to educate others—including fellow PEOs, regulators, and the public—about the value of PEO services done right. He is a staunch supporter and defender of the industry and has invested significant amounts of time, energy, and capital toward its growth. He is known as a tireless advocate for the PEO industry in his home state of Tennessee and has been instrumental with grassroots efforts. Through his role as a leader in the industry, he has helped further the growth of the industry.
Adams is the founder and currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of Adams Keegan, Inc. He currently serves as the chairman of the board of directors of the Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC), the industry's self-regulating accreditation organization. He serves as a member of NAPEO's Federal Government Affairs Committee, driving national regulation of the PEO industry. He served as NAPEO president in 2008-2009. As a pioneer in the PEO industry, Adams has been active in the regulation and formalization of the industry on a state and national level and is a frequent speaker at industry-related events. Adams holds a B.S. degree from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia.

The Michaeline A. Doyle Award was created in 1995 to honor Michaeline, an industry legend who gave selflessly to build the PEO industry.
