HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Adam & Eve and adameve.com, America's most trusted source for adult products, are curious when it comes to all facets of human sexuality. This month, the results of their annual poll reveal how much, on average, people tend to spend for a sex toy. And the numbers may surprise you.
While nearly 50% of those polled (54% of the males vs. 45% of the females) said their sex toys cost under $20, 34% of the respondents (31% of the males and 37% of the females) spent between $20 and $50 on theirs. Just over 13% of those surveyed (12% of the males and 14% of the females) paid between $50 and $100 for an adult toy, and 3% said they spent over $100.
"You get what you pay for, at least when it comes to sex toys," says Dr. Jenni Skyler, resident sexologist at Adam & Eve. "Sure, a $10 vibrator or couples ring can get the job done, but oftentimes these need to be replaced fairly often. Sex toys have come a long way in the past few years – many are now USB rechargeable, waterproof and crafted in high quality materials such as glass or silicone."
"Adam & Eve carries a wide variety of adult toys for every comfort level," says Chad Davis, Director of Marketing for Adam & Eve. "Because there are so many different types of toys, and not everyone responds the same way to each one, I encourage new toy buyers to try out smaller, less expensive types to see what works for them. Adam & Eve is constantly promoting great offers with up to 50% off many items as well."
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
