HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., July 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Adamandeve.com (http://www.adamandeve.com/news), America's most trusted source for adult products, is back this month with their latest finding on couples' sexual habits. This time, the company asked over 1,000 adults their reasons for cheating - and their answers may shock you.
While many cheaters cite the excuses expected ("sexual boredom," 20%; "I was lonely," 23%; "I fell in love," 16%), nearly 45% said "It just happened," and 33% said because "it was exciting." Respondents were allowed to choose multiple answers, and other excuses included 8% with "I thought I could get away with it," and 6% with "I felt I deserved it."
"As long as there have been couples, there has been cheating," says Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexpert for adamandeve.com. "My hope is that with honesty, communication and knowledge of so many other options... cheating – and all the negativity that goes with it – can be avoided."
"Adam & Eve encourages adults to enjoy monogamy without monotony," says AdamAndEve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis. "People cheat for different reasons, but adamandeve.com believes that open communication and the use of erotic toys, games and novelties can help keep the spark alive for couples."
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices. "Sex Chat with Dr. Kat" can be found on podcasts through iTunes or drkat.com. Her new book, "The Married Sex Solution: A Realistic Guide to Saving Your Sex Life," can be found on Amazon.com.
