A&D Icons to Speak at Hart Energy Conference in Dallas
Halcon Resources' Wilson and Herod to be honored with A&D Achievement Award
HOUSTON, Aug. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ralph Eads, vice chairman, Jefferies & Co. and John J. Christmann IV, vice president, Permian region, Apache Corp., along with 20 other energy and financial leaders, will address attendees at Hart Energy's 11th annual A&D Strategies and Opportunities conference and workshop, Sept. 5-6, at the Ritz-Carlton in Dallas.
Eads will present the opening keynote, "Foreign Interest in U.S. Resource Plays," examining what factors will drive deal action, financing, and asset prices in the next 18 months. "Apache's Permian, 2012: Organic-Growth Results Post-2010 Acquisitions," presented by Christmann, will address two multi-billion-dollar deals that Apache Corp. made for high-profile Permian Basin properties (from BP Plc and Mariner Energy Inc.) and how the super-independent has made PDPs (proved developed producing reserves) from its 3P (proved probable possible).
Oil and Gas Investor and A&D Watch will honor Halcon Resources' Floyd Wilson, chairman and CEO, (in absentia); and Steve Herod, president, with the A&D Achievement Award. They will be recognized for successful acquisitions over two decades, culminating in the growth and 2011 sale of Petrohawk Resources Corp. in 2011 for $15 billion. Herod will accept the award for both himself and Wilson and will participate in an onstage Q&A with Oil and Gas Investor Senior Editor Steve Toon.
