Acuity Link Expands Executive Leadership Team With New Vice President of Sales
Mark Contardo Joins the Company to Lead Overall Growth Strategy and Execution
BOSTON, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Acuity Link, a comprehensive non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) communications and logistics management platform provider, today announced that Mark Contardo has joined the company as the vice president of sales. In the new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of Acuity Link's strategy for promoting company growth and customer satisfaction.
Contardo most recently served as vice president, worldwide sales at Cardinal Healthcare, a player in the healthcare technology analytics space. There, he was responsible for P&L, business roadmap development, and the global expansion of a suite of SaaS medical device and hospital provider solutions. This involved close collaboration with engineering, product management, marketing, operations, finance and legal and outsourced consultants to develop and implement go-to-market strategies. His additional career experience of relevance includes six years spent in senior sales positions at Haemonetics, a medical device manufacturer.
"When it came to selecting the newest addition to the Acuity Link executive team, and more specifically, the individual who would hold responsibility for the company's growth strategy moving forward, Mark Contardo was a natural fit," said Alex Theoharidis, CEO of Acuity Link. "His deep understanding of the sales function, coupled with his extensive experience working in the healthcare sector are great assets to Acuity Link as we look to scale both the reach and impact of our non-emergency medical transportation offering at a national level."
Acuity Link was launched to address the mounting need for a comprehensive communications and logistics management platform that could link healthcare systems with emergency and non-emergency medical transportation providers and ambulance crew members for all levels of care and modes of transportation. As a result of using Acuity Link's technology, hospitals today benefit from instant access to the closest available and most suitable transportation resources, and a reduction in bottlenecks that impact patient flow, leading to shorter discharge times, and in turn, improved care and experience. The company's software goes beyond the standard transport request procedures, allowing for streamlined interactions, more efficient and effective data collection and operational performance evaluation which can be used to make more informed decisions to drive patient flow through the healthcare ecosystem.
"Hospitals and health systems are demanding new ways to manage the complexities of patient flow, and to meet that demand, Acuity Link has developed a truly unique platform to optimize patient transportation logistics within the healthcare ecosystem," said Mark Contardo. "I am proud to be joining Acuity Link at such a pinnacle time for the company in terms of both growth and innovation."
Earlier this month, the Acuity Link team welcomed Anup Vidyarthy as the company's new chief technology officer.
