Acuant Partners with ITouch Technology
Solution for Hunting and Fishing Industry Simplifies ATF 4473 Firearm Processing, Licensing and Background Check Processes
LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Acuant, the leading provider of intelligent data capture and identity verification software solutions, has partnered with ITouch Technology, a groundbreaking developer of multimedia technology for the hunting and fishing sports industry. The partnership provides a self-service kiosk solution that enables electronic capture of customer's identification to be utilized for processing the ATF Form 4473 and NICS background checks. This electronic identification capture simplifies the process of applying for hunting and fishing licenses and for federal firearms purchases without sacrificing accuracy through manual insertion.
Acuant's idScan gathers data from ID's and can auto-populate information into approved government forms, such as an ATF Form 4473, from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which must be filled out when a customer purchases firearms from a federally licensed dealer. ITouch Technology's kiosk application has been developed for use at Federal Firearm Licensed Dealers and offers Acuant's idScan for identification capture and population. In an effort to prevent fraud and assure accuracy, ITouch Technology can process accurate identification capture and Acuant's idScan solution also verifies customer government issued IDs.
"Filling out federal forms can be time consuming for both customers, and dealers, and inaccurate or fraudulent information can have severe consequences," said Yossi Zekri, CEO of Acuant. "Our data intake solution simplifies the process of filling out Form 4473 and the option of using our ID verification solution eliminates fraud."
ITouch Technology will be using Acuant's idScan solution and deploying it at self-service kiosks in sporting goods stores that sell hunting and fishing licenses. Customers can apply for a license and scan their ID at an ITouch Technology self-service kiosk instead of filling out a form with a retail employee, eliminating both errors and long lines, while the verification element ensures the person's identity.
"Applying for a hunting or fishing license or processing an ATF Form 4473 accurately and expeditiously when purchasing a firearm shouldn't be a process which holds up lines at retailers," said Jan Robinson, CEO and Co-Founder of ITouch Technology. Dennis Robinson, Co-Founder of Itouch tested several competing id scanning products and found the Acuant idScan to be far superior to any other identification scanning product in the marketplace. "We're confident our partnership with Acuant will help Itouch retail clients eliminate fears of manual errors and allow employees to spend more time on the sales floor instead of helping customers fill out forms."
