Activeion technology, named by Forbes.com as one of the ten best "disruptive technologies that could change the world," is an on demand, on-the-go cleaning technology that converts tap water into ionized water, a powerful dirt-removing and bacteria-killing agent. To see how products powered by Activeion technology — the ionator EXP™ for commercial use and the ionator HOM™ for consumer use —work, visit www.activeion.com.
The Activeion cleaning test report summary was first published in the April 2010 issue of Executive Housekeeping Today. In the test, Activeion technology proved to work as well as or better than common glass and all-purpose cleaners. The TURI lab evaluated the performance of Activeion technology, concluding in the report that the technology "removes soil as well as or better than conventional glass and multi-purpose cleaners, without creating known airborne toxins and chemical-residue by-products."
"Field use has anecdotally— and in some cases systematically – corroborated TURI test performance," says Allen Rathey, president, InstructionLink/JanTrain, Inc., a consultant for TURI. "Product durability, even during drop-testing, seems quite good. Lastly, since the system eliminates the need for many cleaning chemicals and related costs, it provides a return on investment (ROI) in many cases of less than one year."
The International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) is a 3,500-plus professional member organization for persons who direct housekeeping programs in commercial, industrial or institutional facilities. IEHA provides its members with an array of professional development, educational, and certification opportunities. For more information, visit www.ieha.org.
The Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell provides research, training, technical support, laboratory services and grant programs to reduce the use of toxic chemicals while enhancing the economic competitiveness of local businesses. The TURI Laboratory tests the performance of both industrial and janitorial cleaning products to encourage companies, institutions, and product formulators, to choose and develop safer substitutes.
