ActioNet Selects Companion Data Services for CMS Data Management Contract
COLUMBIA, S.C., July 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ActioNet Inc., an information technology company based in Vienna, Va., has selected Companion Data Services (CDS) to provide hosting and data management services in support of ActioNet's work with the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
CDS, based in Columbia, S.C., will serve as a subcontractor for ActioNet on CMS's five-year Data Management IDIQ contract. ActioNet was one of five companies awarded the contract, which qualifies the companies to bid on task orders in the areas of data and database administration, business intelligence tools, data and information products, training/user support, and more.
CDS will provide ActioNet support for hosting and data management.
CDS operates one of the largest and most secure health care data centers in the world, providing health information technology services to CMS and other government and private entities. CDS provides claims processing, programming and outsourcing services to CMS. Last year, CDS processed approximately 800 million Medicare fee-for-service claims, or about 65 percent of the nation's total.
