ActionCOACH Rhiannon Rees on Shortlist for Franchise Award
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Sydney-based ActionCOACH Business Coach Rhiannon Rees has been shortlisted for the Franchise Woman of the Year by the Franchise Council of Australia.
Rhiannon is no stranger to loss. She has owned five businesses over the years which she built from the ground up. Sadly the last of these – a health retreat – went under and she lost absolutely everything, along with her marriage and her home.
Although she was incredibly fearful of failing again, she met a woman four years earlier who was a successful ActionCOACH Business Coach. She toyed with the idea, but rejected it because it meant taking out a loan and another possible failed venture.
Without security, a permanent address and a full time job, it made the possibility of a loan virtually insurmountable. She tried to find work anywhere and everywhere. As a single mother she felt she needed a job but didn't want to spend time away from her son, who is now just six.
Uncannily, in the end, everything pointed her in the direction of ActionCOACH.
She started training in January 2009, believing she had the right advisory and business skills.
"It felt right but demanded a huge leap of faith," she says.
She had "zero confidence" and had incurred AU$25,000 worth of debt. After training, she became desperate to find a client. When she did sign her first client she was spurred on by a sense of pure desperation. That client was a godsend.
He went from $AU25,000 per month to $AU125,000 per month and Rhiannon was elated with their success. Since then, he has opened a second outlet and is now looking at his first overseas location.
Today, Rhiannon's clients are enormously diverse – she works with a chiropractor, model, film producer, retail outlet, interior designer, mortgage broker and an entrepreneur/inventor, amongst others.
She readily admits she has a low signing rate but this is intentional: She only signs a certain type of person. The reason for this is that she "specializes in the psychology of the person."
In the end, she says, "It comes down to how much guts the client has, how willing they are to change the shape of their life."
Her first meetings generally last as long as 2 or 3 hours and during this time Rhiannon puts potential clients to the test.
Rhiannon also uses business to change people's lives.
One of her clients was seeing great financial results. The client's wife approached Rhiannon and said, "What you've done for my husband's confidence far exceeds the financial rewards that we are experiencing."
That journey is reflective of Rhiannon's own experience, having gone from being fearful, homeless and down just 18 months ago to being shortlisted Franchise Woman of the Year, truly amongst "the best of the best."
