ACTEC Elects Kathleen Sherby as President and Inducts 32 Trust and Estate Lawyers to the College
WASHINGTON, March 14, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a non-profit association of the leading trust and estate lawyers peer-elected to membership, elected Kathleen R. Sherby as President 2014-2015 and inducted 32 new members during the ACTEC annual meeting held in Tucson, Arizona, last week.
Kathleen Sherby is a partner in the Private Client Group and co-leader of the Fiduciary Litigation Team with Bryan Cave LLP. Ms. Sherby's practice involves representation of private individuals in all aspects of wealth transfer planning, including the implementation of sophisticated planning techniques involving grantor retained annuity trusts, family limited partnerships/limited liability companies, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts and other similar wealth transfer techniques. A particular focus of her practice is estate planning for retirement benefits, integrating the planning for minimization of transfer tax and income tax with the required minimum distribution rules. Ms. Sherby has served as chair of the Employee Benefits in Estate Planning Committee and as Missouri State Chair of ACTEC.
The newly elected Fellows met rigorous eligibility criteria including, but not limited to, demonstrated skill and significant contributions to the field of trust and estate law and no less than 10 years experience in the active private practice of probate and trust law or estate planning.
