Ms. Akers' appointment reflects her longstanding work in acquisition.
"I am honored that ACT-IAC selected me for this important role," Ms. Akers said. "I've been a member for more than a decade, and in that time, IAC has been an important and rewarding part of my career."
She added, "Having spent 16 years as a federal employee at the General Services Administration, focused on information technology (IT) acquisition, and five years at ASI Government, focused on management consulting, I believe I bring a balanced viewpoint to the IT community that is effective in furthering the partnership on which ACT-IAC is built."
