ACT Announces New Partners Integrating OpenEd Resources
More Leading EdTech Offerings to Include OpenEd Educational Resource Library
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- OpenEd, an ACT product and creator of the leading online library of standards-aligned resources for K-12 teachers, today announced new EdTech partner integrations made possible through OpenEd's API and related IMS standards.
"ACT sees a near future where the majority of Learning Management and Assessment companies offer educational resources seamlessly within their platforms, saving teachers time and helping them find the most effective resources," said Adam Blum, architect of the OpenEd product.
New Partners include:
itslearning:
The itslearning LMS solution allows school districts to truly personalize learning by putting curriculum resources, instructional strategies, standards-based lesson plans, content and assessments, all in one easy-to-access central location. OpenEd resources are now available within the itslearning search engine through the OpenEd API.
"We believe that in their efforts to access the best available OERs, teachers and students need a 'Best in Class' user experience, directly within the learning management system. Our API and IMS Global™ integration partnership with OpenEd will serve to further access to high quality, vetted and aligned OER content for a large variety of subject areas," said Bailey Mitchell, chief academic officer, itslearning. "We are excited about enabling schools and districts to better leverage their curriculum acquisition funds by using a blend of free and paid learning resources, activities and assessments. The itslearning library can now offer OpenEd resources, along with districts adopted content, all within a single search."
Thrivist:
Thrivist, an Ingram Content Group company, is a learning and analytics platform for K-12 that enables schools to personalize learning and to make better decisions based on learning data. OpenEd's learning resources have been included in Tennessee's official digital library known as the Tennessee Digital Library – an initiative supported by Thrivist.
D2L:
OpenEd is pleased to announce that our resources are now available to D2L customers. OpenEd and D2L's commitment to IMS Global standards is now showcased by the fact that all OpenEd Lesson Plans are optimized for D2L Brightspace's new Lessons tool. Teachers can now easily import any OpenEd Lesson Plan and its standards alignment data into their Brightspace Lessons experience. This integration is available across all of our core academic subjects and includes premium interactive content.
Pearson Schoolnet:
OpenEd resources are now available with Single Signon within the popular Pearson Schoolnet Instructional Improvement System (IIS). The addition of OpenEd resources significantly increases the number of student facing resources available to teachers using Schoolnet.
Using Industry Standards: There will be a forthcoming IMS standard on learning object repository search. ACT, Knovation, Safari Montage and others are now working on this standard, enabling partners to use a industry standard API call to access all of the resources from all of these libraries.
