Micron Technology Inc. Research Report
On December 9, 2013, Micron Technology Inc. (Micron), together with Rambus Inc. (Rambus), announced that the two Companies have formalized a broad patent cross license agreement. Micron reported that under the said agreement, it will gain the right to use any Rambus patent for the manufacturing of specified integrated circuit products, such as any memory integrated circuit products. The Company stated that Rambus will receive quarterly royalty payments over the next seven years, which will be capped at $10 million per quarter, with a rolling twelve-month cap fixed at $40 million, or $280 million during the initial term. Micron informed that it has the option to extend the initial term of the agreement for additional renewal period, and that all outstanding patent and antitrust claims have been settled by the two Companies. Canadian Solar Inc. Research Report
On December 9, 2013, Canadian Solar Inc. (Canadian Solar) announced that it has signed a $40 million loan agreement with Harvest North Star Capital (Harvest North Star or HNSC). According to Canadian Solar, the loan facility is split into 3 tranches, with the drawdown of the first tranche expected in December 2013. Canadian Solar reported that the loan facility will be used to finance the development of several ground-mounted solar power projects in Japan, which total to approximately 145.1 MWdc, with approximately 40-50 MWdc expected to start construction during H1 2014. (Silicon Labs) launched a new family of relative humidity (RH) and temperature sensors that simplify RH sensing designs while providing industry-leading power efficiency and ease of use.
