Acquisition Solutions, Inc.(R) Purchases ICOR Partners
Broadens "Trusted Advisor" Platform to Expand into CIO Advisory, Enterprise Architecture and Business Transformation
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Acquisition Solutions, Inc. (ASI), a company that serves only the federal government in the "trusted advisor" space, today announced the purchase of substantially all of the assets of ICOR Partners, LLC (ICOR). ICOR is a leading provider of strategy, transformation and business improvement consulting to government. With the transaction, ASI has formed a new business unit specializing in management solutions.
"We are thrilled to welcome ICOR's employees into the ASI family and to be able to offer our public sector clients a broader range of services and solutions," said Anne Reed, president and chief executive officer of ASI. "ICOR perfectly complements our expertise in acquisition, program management and knowledge management, and shares our commitment to avoiding the conflicts of interest faced by some firms. Together, we are poised to better serve as a trusted advisor to government program managers and C-suite clients, helping to improve mission performance and deliver results."
ICOR – dubbed "the McKinsey of the government" by Consulting Magazine – is a leading advisory firm with deep expertise in IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) and governance, business transformation, performance and portfolio management. Founded in 2002, the firm largely supports government civilian sector clients.
"We've always talked about ASI as a firm focused on the "Big A" of Acquisition – supporting not just procurement, but the holistic range of disciplines in the acquisition cycle, including systems engineering and architecture, mission and business planning, and program management," added Reed. "ICOR brings us deep capabilities in all three of these areas and we're very excited to have them on board."
"The alignment of the two firm's capabilities to the needs of our clients is by far the most exciting part of this deal," added ICOR founder Wayne Simmons, who will join ASI as president of the new ICOR Management Solutions business unit. "It will give our employees a chance to grow, and our customers the ability to benefit from a broader range of exciting approaches to improving mission performance and outcomes."
In 2008, Excellere Partners, a private equity firm based in Denver, Co., partnered with ASI to grow the firm into a platform company in the government's "trusted advisor" market space, providing a suite of value-added solutions to the federal government. This transaction is the first acquisition for the platform.
Under the terms of the deal, ASI has purchased all of the non-8(a) assets of ICOR Partners. The transaction, effective immediately, closed on Jan. 8, 2010.
