Acquisition Creates "Game Changing" Technology For Regional Law Enforcement
BATON ROUGE, La., Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- KOLOGIK, a Baton Rouge Louisiana based company that specializes in providing information and communication data sharing technology to law enforcement has acquired the assets of COPsnyc, of Dallas, Texas. The combination of these two firms, creates an unmatched law enforcement regional data sharing network that will span across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
"Simply put, this acquisition will make the "in the car" technology unlike anything available to law enforcement in the past," says Kologik CEO, Matthew Teague. "The stack of technologies that these two companies offer will dramatically increase the size of any network of data currently being accessed by local or regional law enforcement today."
Kologik's current patented technology, including their Street Smart Mobile Data System, give officers access to over 700 local and state databases, 7 federal databases as well as all 50 state Computerized Criminal History (CCH) and Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) databases. Kologik also offers a sophisticated Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD-to-CAD) integration hub being used throughout the country. This allows different law enforcement agencies to communicate seamlessly and automatically—reducing response times.
The COPsync System is comprised of more than 820 U.S. law enforcement agencies and courts across the U.S. who are using the Network's real-time information sharing and cross-jurisdictional communication capabilities.
The Network connects law enforcement officers and agencies in real-time to a database of non-adjudicated law enforcement information. With this database, information about dangerous individuals and vehicles known to officers in one agency are now known to subscribing officers in real-time at the point of a traffic stop in 16 states across the U.S. Having access to this actionable, mission-critical information keeps officers safer, helps them arrest criminals and keeps America's communities safer.
The COPsync system also features auto vehicle locator, BOLO (Be on the Lookout), distance based alerts, officer notes, messenger and map based messaging.
COPsync911 is a real-time threat-alert system, easily activated from a computer or mobile device, sending a direct notification to the closest law enforcement officers when a school or community building is threatened or under attack. COPsync911 improves communication and reduces law enforcement response time sharing critical information live through a Crisis Communication Portal.
"More information, in real-time, further increases personnel efficiency and saves more lives. It means safer communities, safer schools, and safer officers," Teague says. "We're excited about the opportunity of presenting this package of offerings to our law enforcement partners. It's a real game changer for our first responders."
Full integration of both companies will take place over the next several months. The COPsync product will continue to operate under that same name within Kologik's product service offerings.
