ACL Airshop Promotes Pieter van Calcar to Director & General Manager - Asia Pacific Operations
GREENVILLE, S.C., June 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ACL Airshop, a leader in products and services for the global air cargo industry, announces the promotion of Mr. Pieter van Calcar to the position of Director & General Manager – Asia Pacific Operations, based in Singapore and Hong Kong. Pieter van Calcar has over 30 years' business experience in Asia, with over 20 of those years serving the air cargo markets. The Asia Pacific region is considered a strategic priority by ACL's board of directors due to the long-term growth trends expected there. Mr. van Calcar is now designated as a full member of the Executive Team for ACL Airshop, with broad responsibility and authority across the company's burgeoning operations in his geographic region. A decades-long resident in Singapore, van Calcar has deep knowledge of the regional air cargo market and the multi-cultural business practices in the Asia Pacific region. His previous role as Regional Sales Manager/Asia Pacific for ACL Airshop allowed van Calcar to contribute to the recent aggressive growth of the company's offerings in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Hanoi, and soon Japan. Regional plans under van Calcar call for opening a service and repair center soon at Tokyo's Narita Airport (the busiest air cargo hub in Japan). Mr. van Calcar held senior regional management roles prior to ACL Airshop in air cargo-related companies such as VRR and Zodiac/Driessen. He supplemented his undergraduate studies with the MBA program from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, which is ranked among Europe's top-tier business schools.
