Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy Offers Exciting CEU Workshop in New York

FOREST HILLS, N.Y., Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy- http://www.achievebeyondusa.com - is pleased to announce it will be co-hosting a two day CEU workshop with Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. titled Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Level 1 Basic Training. This workshop will be held at the Courtyard Marriot in East Elmhurst, NY on October 24^{th -}25^th 2013 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm both days. The training will offer 1.3 ASHA & 13.0 Type II BACB CEUs for Speech Language Pathologists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts that attend the training.   

The PECS workshop is designed to teach participants the theory behind the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and the protocols for how to appropriately implement the six phases of PECS. The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is used to rapidly teach communication skills to those with limited functional speech. Participants will learn how to implement the six phases of PECS, plus attributes, through presenter demonstrations, video examples and role-play opportunities.  Participants will leave the workshop with an understanding of how to implement PECS with individuals with autism, related developmental disabilities,
and/or limited communication skills    

This PECS CEU workshop will be presented by Anthony Castrogiovanni, Ph.D. and Laura Hakenberg. Dr. Castrogiovanni has been providing private consultation to families, schools, agencies, and businesses since 1989. Dr. Castrogiovanni, an experienced presenter, has spoken at numerous conferences both to train teachers and other staff as well as to present findings from on-going research to professional audiences.  Laura Hakenberg has been a consultant with Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. since 2011 and has co-presented workshops with both co-founders of PECS, Dr. Andy Bondy and Lori Frost.
