WASHINGTON, July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Acentia, formerly known as Interactive Technology Solutions (ITSolutions LLC), today launched a new name, corporate website and brand to more fully represent the growing breadth and depth of its team and the importance of the solutions the company provides customers as it focuses on programs of national significance.
Acentia is the combination of nine companies over the past 10 years. During this time Acentia has expanded through both organic growth and acquisitions into a team of more than 700 professionals with offices throughout the United States. The name Acentia comes from the root words ascend (moving higher) and essential (critical). The name conveys and underscores the confidence that customers place in the company to help them meet their most essential mission goals.
Acentia will continue to build trusted partnerships with its Federal government and commercial customers to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to solve complex, mission-critical information technology challenges.
"Making sure that an organization's information technology infrastructure can meet its essential mission demands, both today and into the future, can mean the difference between success and failure," said Acentia CEO Todd Stottlemyer. "Our branding initiative around our new name Acentia reflects our commitment to being a trusted partner to our customers, ensuring their success."
"Our customers are facing difficult challenges, including tighter budgets with growing mission demands and complex information systems requirements, as well as a dynamic environment where new obstacles arise every day," added Stottlemyer. "As a trusted partner to our customers, Acentia delivers innovative solutions at the best value on programs of national significance."
Acentia announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, Mike Daniels and Major General Elder Granger, MD, USA (Ret).
Daniels brings broad management, technology, and innovation experience to Acentia. A former Chairman and CEO of Network Solutions, Daniels led the 2000 merger of Network Solutions and VeriSign. Daniels served as Chairman of Mobile365, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Logistics Management Institute and on the boards of GlobalLogic, Mercury Computer Systems, and Invincea. Previously, he was a senior operating executive with SAIC. He has also served with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and has held positions on numerous international commissions and advisory boards, including the United States Trade Representatives International Investment Policy Advisory Commission, as a U.S. National Commissioner for UNESCO, as a White House Advisor on International Technology and as a Senior Advisor to the National Security Council (NSC).
MG Granger brings to Acentia a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector. As the primary architect of the U.S. Department of Defense health plan policy and performance programs, he led a staff of 1,800 in planning, budgeting and executing an $18 billion program that brought high-quality, accessible healthcare to over nine million uniformed service members and their families. MG Granger has led at every level of the Army Medical Department and served as the leader for the U.S. Military Hospitals in the U.S., Germany and Iraq. As Commander, Task Force 44th Medical Command and Command Surgeon for the Multinational Corps in Iraq, MG Granger led the largest U.S. and multinational battlefield health system including the development and establishment of the Military Healthcare Facilities to support U.S. troops. In alignment with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) focus on Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER), MG Granger performed a key role that resulted in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Defense forming a partnership to share data and expertise related to the review and use of FDA-regulated drugs, biologics, and medical devices.
"Mike Daniels and General Granger bring the experience, knowledge, and relationships that will help Acentia further enhance its quality of service and solutions to our customers and expand its growing customer base," said Leif Soderberg, Chairman of the Acentia Board of Directors.
