Acentia Chief Architect, Tom Woteki, PhD, Selected to Serve on TechAmerica Foundation Federal Technology Convergence Commission
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Acentia, a premier provider of technology and management solutions, today announced that Tom Woteki, PhD, Chief Architect and Senior Vice President, Strategy and Solutions, has been selected to serve as a Commissioner on the TechAmerica Foundation Federal Technology Convergence Commission.
The goal of the Commission is to bring technology leaders together to make recommendations to the Obama Administration on the convergence of social, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC) technologies and their ability to improve government efficiency, services, and capabilities while driving innovation and the economy. The Commission, which is comprised of experts from a cross-section of the tech industry, will hold its inaugural meeting on September 5 with the White House Office of Science and Technology where it will lay out its structure and areas of focus.

Dr. Woteki serves as a Senior Vice President and Chief Architect, Strategy and Solutions Development at Acentia. He is responsible for developing the strategy and roadmap for Acentia's technology and management solutions in support of its customers' mission critical needs.
Dr. Woteki has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, serving as the general manager of Cisco's Healthcare Solutions business and as a senior executive at Northrop Grumman leading the Defense Travel System, respectively. He also served as CIO and Sr. Vice President at the American Red Cross. Dr. Woteki also led development of clinical data systems for Merck Research Laboratories and was the principal architect in the development of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) EDGAR system while at BDM International. Dr. Woteki has a PhD in statistics and has held faculty appointments at Princeton University and the University of Texas, San Antonio. He also serves on the Northern Virginia Technology Council's (NVTC) Big Data Committee.
