ACE Cash Express Sponsors Back on My Feet to Benefit Dallas' Homeless Population
Annual Birthday Bash Title Sponsor Announced
DALLAS, Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Back on My Feet, a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem, announced the receipt of an $18,000 donation from ACE Cash Express in support of their upcoming Birthday Bash.
ACE Cash Express has worked closely with Back on My Feet participants, teaching financial literacy basics. ACE developed a specialized curriculum—ACE Financial Fitness—and through the dedication of employee volunteers has taught key money management principles since February 2011.
"ACE Cash Express is proud to support Back on My Feet's Birthday Bash," said ACE President and CEO Jay Shipowitz. "The results of the Back on My Feet Program this year validate our investment in the ACE Financial Fitness Program."
The generous donation was made possible through the ACE Community Fund, ACE's corporate giving program that focuses on children, education and financial literacy and will be used to support the Back on My Feet program. The Back on My Feet program teaches critical life skills - including discipline, financial management and goal setting - to individuals experiencing homelessness.
"We are thrilled to see the changes in our Members' lives after they participate in the financial literacy courses provided and designed by ACE Cash Express," said Anne Mahlum, Back on My Feet Founder and CEO. "More than 58 individuals experiencing homelessness in Dallas have attended the class and have benefited from a curriculum that is tailored to their needs."
The Birthday Bash will take place on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the Marriott City Center, 650 North Pearl Street, Dallas. To learn more about the Birthday Bash and Back on My Feet Dallas-Fort Worth, please visit www.backonmyfeet.org.
