This year, each of ACE's major markets selected local charities to support during ACE's annual fundraiser. Thanks to the generosity of ACE associates and customers, $130,550 will be donated among local chapters of charities including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Back on My Feet, Adopt-a-Classroom, Boys and Girls Club, Girls Inc., First Book and Junior Achievement.
ACE's Dallas stores chose Back on My Feet, a national, for-purpose 501(c)3 organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change that results in employment and independent living.
"The Dallas region chose to support Back on My Feet because we believe in their mission," said Kellee Feifer, ACE's Dallas region vice president. "They have successfully helped members of the Dallas community regain financial independence and self-sufficiency."
ACE associates also volunteer with the organization by participating in local events and regularly teaching financial literacy classes to residential members – individuals experiencing homelessness enrolled in the program – of Back on My Feet Dallas-Fort Worth. The curriculum teaches participants basic fundamentals of budgeting, credit, banking and understanding a paycheck.
"ACE's financial literacy courses have helped me a lot," said Karen 'Special K' Wright, Back on My Feet residential member. "They taught me how to make a budget and how to build credit."
ACE Cash Express is a national partner of Back on My Feet, as part of ACE's corporate-giving program, the ACE Community Fund. Since 2004, the ACE Community Fund has donated more than $7.3 million to charitable organizations throughout the nation and focuses on organizations that help children, support education and promote financial literacy.
