TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Accusoft's Change Makers Committee was formed in 2018 as an initiative to provide a diverse array of options to give back to the community.
In addition to Accusoft's already strong corporate citizenship, the focus of this committee was to encourage volunteerism, give back to the community, and provide a diverse range of options to do so.
"The Change Makers Committee is one of the many ways we try to give back to the Tampa Bay Area," says Christine Hairelson, HR Director at Accusoft. "In addition to our recycling policy, we encourage our employees to take one day per year to volunteer without using their PTO."
In 2018, the committee volunteered at Feeding Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Coastal Cleanup, and hosted a toy drive for A Kid's Place.
The Change Makers Committee has not slowed down since. In January of 2019, the Change Makers hosted a blood drive at Accusoft's headquarters. The committee meets bi-monthly to brainstorm ideas and schedule volunteer activities in which employees can participate.
