Accounting Today Named Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award Finalist
Nominated in the Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper Category
NEW YORK, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- American Business Media (ABM) has named Accounting Today a finalist in the 57th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards Competition.
Accounting Today, a SourceMedia brand, has served as the premier news vehicle for the nation's tax and accounting community since 1987. ABM is a professional association, founded in 1906, that focuses on the integrated business-to-business media model.
The publication was nominated in the Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper category, for its October 25-November 14 issue. The submission was the first issue of Accounting Today published following a comprehensive redesign. It features insightful analysis of one of the critical issues -- tax reform -- that led up to the November mid-term elections. The issue also displays Accounting Today's new statistics section, as well as the debut of its profile series on cutting-edge accounting firms.
"Our mission is to deliver industry specific news, expert analysis and peer interaction to the public accounting executives we serve," said Accounting Today Editor in Chief Bill Carlino. "We are honored to be considered for this award as it shows we are fulfilling that mission."
In addition to Carlino, the entry cited the work of managing editor Daniel Hood, senior editors Roger Russell and Danielle Lee, technology editor Seth Fineberg.
"We are delighted that the debut issue of the new Accounting Today is in the running for best issue honors," said David Longobardi, SourceMedia's chief content officer. "It's an acknowledgement of the truly transformational growth that this publication, and its Web site, AccountingToday.com, have achieved."
The winners will be announced at the Neal Awards Luncheon on March 10 at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City.
