LANSING, Mich., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Accident Fund Insurance Company of America president Michael K. Britt will be the guest speaker at the Mississippi College School of Business on October 14, 2010.

Britt, a 1980 alumnus of the Mississippi College School of Business, will be addressing current Mississippi College business school students, telling them about his work life, meaningful experiences he has had along the way to becoming president of Accident Fund, the state of the insurance industry and offering advice to the students about being successful in the business world.
Making the occasion even more special are the two awards that Mississippi College will be presenting to Britt. The School of Business is honoring him with the Alumnus of the Year Award during a luncheon following his presentation on October 14. Additionally, he will be receiving a Distinguished Alumnus Award from Mississippi College during a college-wide homecoming event on October 15.

"Being able to give back to the college I graduated from is important to me, as is the opportunity to help shape the future of our up and coming business leaders. Named Accident Fund president in October 2009, Britt oversees operations for the company. Prior to his appointment as company president, Britt served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Britt joined Accident Fund in 2006 after serving as president of Citizens Insurance Company. He also held positions with Hanover Insurance Group, including regional vice president, personal lines manager, group manager and sales manager.
Britt is very active in the community, serving as Board Secretary for the Westran Scholarship Foundation, and has served previously with the YMCA Founders Club of Livingston County, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Howell Diversity Council, Michigan Basic Property Insurance Association and the Michigan Auto Placement Facility.
Britt earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Mississippi College and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Michigan – Flint. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter.
