WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The mascots of the Atlantic Coast Conference spent some time at Brenner Children's Hospital, part of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday, March 14. They stopped by as part of an outreach initiative for the 2014 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament. Young patients got to meet and have their photos taken with their favorite mascots during the visit. A good time was had by all, especially the mascots who seemed to thoroughly enjoy a quick break away from courtside.
Brenner is the only children's hospital in northwest North Carolina serving western North Carolina, as well as parts of Virginia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. More than 4,500 children are admitted to Brenner Children's Hospital each year and 21,000 pediatric outpatient visits occur annually at hospital-based subspecialty clinics.
