AcademyOne and the University of Alaska Partner to Improve Life Outcomes Through Education
MALVERN, Pa., April 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- AcademyOne and the University of Alaska are pleased to announce the launch of the My Future Alaska gateway where current and prospective students can easily find and explore information about the full array of courses, programs, and services available to them in Alaska.
Whether learners have some college credit but no degree, or no college experience at all, the portal provides a one-stop destination focused on guiding students to degree or certificate completion.
In the face of a rapidly changing economic and workforce landscape, the University of Alaska is committed to helping the state realize its goal of 65% of working-age Alaskans having a postsecondary credential by the year 2025. The UA Strategic Pathways objective is to maximize value to Alaska through excellent, accessible, and cost-effective higher education ultimately leading to career growth and expanded job opportunities.
Powered by AcademyOne's intuitive workflow and publishing tools, the gateway delivers the means for learners to make better informed academic choices. Returning adults, veterans and active duty military will make use of interactive applications that include prospective degree audits, transfer checks, and prior learning assessments. Transfer students benefit by learning how previously earned credits will apply to programs of study and credentials. All students, new or returning, will have access to the UA guided transfer pathways, general education requirements, transfer agreements, admission guidelines, and a cost calculator for financial planning. Prospective students can also create their own personalized accounts and request more information from any UA campus.
"AcademyOne worked with student enrollment specialists across UA to build a robust tool for exploring all that the University of Alaska has to offer and providing, for the first time, a service geared directly toward the needs of our non-traditional adult and transfer students," said Saichi Oba, Associate Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services. "It took hundreds of hours of work by university staff and great leadership and software from AcademyOne to bring this tool online for the people of Alaska."
