"We want to give attendees an exciting experience by creating a nexus -- bringing the various aspects of health care delivery, managed care, and pharmacy delivery together," said AMCP CEO Edith A. Rosato, RPh, IOM. "Nexus will reflect the growing role of managed care in America's health care system and the innovation it demands."
Nexus will include two "Innovation Interchange Sessions," designed to be of interest to all attendees and featuring nationally known thought-leaders recognized for innovation in health care and related fields. Also new at Nexus will be in-depth three-hour "deep dive" sessions providing attendees a progressive way to learn about health care reform implementation and solutions to clinical challenges in treating patients with chronic diseases.
Nexus will focus on four tracks providing extensive programming on specialty pharmacy, health care reform, clinical breakthroughs, and research in managed care. Additionally, the education sessions at Nexus will include more audience interaction and active learning than in previous AMCP conferences, ensuring that attendance will be compelling and impactful for all participants.
AMCP Nexus 2013 takes place October 15-18 in San Antonio, Texas, and is headlined with pre-conference symposia on topics personalized for medical and pharmacy directors, managed care physicians, nurses and case managers. Preliminary program information is available on the AMCP web site, http://www.amcp.org.
