Academic Partnerships Now Accepting Proposals for 2016 Faculty Research Grant Program
Funds support research on impact and effectiveness of online learning
DALLAS, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Academic Partnerships (AP), a leading global provider of online services for higher education, is accepting applications for its spring 2016 Faculty Research Grant Program. The program supports faculty and staff at AP partner universities by funding research into the efficacy, efficiency and inherent value of online degree programs.
Primary focus areas include competency-based learning, course facilitation (faculty-student interaction), instructional technology, and a new opportunity for faculty to explore the use of ApprenNet, a video collaboration tool that promotes peer interaction, self-reflection, practice and mentoring.
AP accepts proposals each spring and fall. Since the program's inception in 2012, AP has awarded $300,000 in research funding to more than 90 faculty at over 20 U.S. universities.
"Faculty members who teach online courses see firsthand how this approach dramatically expands access to education," said Jennifer Scott, AP's Senior Vice President of Academic Products and Services. "AP supports their efforts to innovate and understand the best practices for online higher education."
Proposals for this round of Faculty Research Grants are due by March 14, 2016. For more information, please visit http://facultyecommons.com/research-grants. To apply, please visit http://facultyecommons.com/research-grant-application.
