Academic High School to Celebrate School Choice with Anti-Bullying Event
BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Students at Academic High School will perform a play at the school's "Be a Hero: Stomp Out Bullying" event at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.
The play, "Milo's World," was written by Academic High School students to shed light on bullying situations and how to counter them though education. During the event, students will also share reflections with classmates and audience members about their experiences with bullying.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
"The performance will be the culmination of a month of activities designed to bring greater awareness of how to respond to bullying situations," said Marji Baker, principal of Academic High School. "We will be celebrating school choice by promoting healthy, safe educational environments."
Academic High School is a small private school that specializes in college preparatory education for students in grades 6 to 12, including an adult high school diploma program.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
