Absolute Software Announces Persistent Endpoint Security for Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet

Computrace persistence technology embedded into tablet firmware

VANCOUVER, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Absolute® Software Corporation ("Absolute" or the "Company") (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-based endpoint security and management solutions that reduce IT costs, prove regulatory compliance, respond to computer theft, and optimize productivity, today announced the Computrace® persistence module has been embedded into the firmware of the new Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet.

As a direct result of this technology collaboration, built upon past market success, Lenovo and Absolute customers can now maintain a constant connection back to each tablet in their deployment.  This revolutionizes the concept of endpoint security, enabling joint customers to perform remote security and administrative functions on a ThinkPad Tablet regardless of who is using it or where it is located.

How Computrace Technology Works

Computrace products are powered by the Absolute Software patented Computrace persistence technology. When embedded in the firmware of computers and tablets from leading computer manufacturers, Computrace can survive operating system re-installations, as well as hard-drive reformats, replacements and re-imaging, helping to ensure that the service is there when it's needed most.* The Computrace Agent is virtually undetectable and calls home to the Absolute Monitoring Center with IT asset information including the physical location of each device.
