Abilities Expo Boston to Feature Latest Products and Services for People with Disabilities, September 18-20
SPECIAL ADDED EVENT: Cosplay Parade on Sunday, September 20
Expo to Highlight the Assistive Tech, Adaptive Vehicles, Wheelchair Dancing, Adaptive Sports
BOSTON, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Thousands of people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals are expected to attend Abilities Expo on September 18-20, 2015 at Boston Convention & Exposition Center (Hall C). Admission is free and show hours will be Friday 11 am to 5 pm, Saturday 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.
The Boston Abilities Expo will also feature an impressive line-up of exhibits, workshops, events, celebrities and activities to appeal to people of all ages with the full spectrum of disabilities—including physical, learning, developmental and sensory disabilities.
The Expo will also feature the brand new Abilities Cosplay Parade on Sunday, the final day of the event. All ages from the disability community are welcome to come dressed as their favorite characters. The parade will take place at 1:00 pm on September 20 and will be emceed by Misa On Wheels, "New England's Most Notable Cosplayer on Wheels."

Complimentary sign language interpreters, loaner scooters and wheelchair repair will also be available during show hours.

The Latest Products and Services
Attendees will experience cutting-edge products and services for people with a wide range of disabilities. They will find mobility products, devices for people with developmental disabilities, medical equipment, home accessories, essential services, low-cost daily living aids, products for people with sensory impairments and much more. Some especially exciting products to find at Abilities Expo: the MXV, BraunAbility's new mobility crossover vehicle, a power chair with an iLevel tech by Quantum and the ReWalk Exoskeleton by ReWalk Robotics. The Assistive Technology Showcase, sponsored by Easter Seals, will also feature an array of devices for attendees to experience hands-on.
Free Childcare Pavilion
The Childcare Play Pavilion will provide a safe, secure place for children to play and have fun with trained volunteers, allowing parents kid-free time to attend a workshop, enjoy an event, engage with exhibitors and more.
Relevant Workshops
A series of compelling workshops which address pressing disability issues will be offered free-of-charge to all attendees. Sessions will focus on bionics, adaptive recreation, travel, intimacy, the benefits of therapeutic cannabis and that is just for starters.
Sports, Dancing, Art Activities and More!
Abilities Expo does not merely inform, it engages and it entertains. Attendees of all levels of ability can test their skills at adaptive gaming and play a host of adaptive sports like quad rugby, power soccer, tennis, basketball and hand cycling. They'll learn the latest dance moves and release those happy hormones through therapeutic yoga. There will also be special instruction on manual wheelchair skills for people of all abilities. If you have never hopped a curb or popped a wheelie, now is your chance to learn. Kids will love the face painting and special adaptive art activities especially created to accommodate all abilities. There will even be a giant floor mural for everyone to express their inner artist.
Caregiver Day
Presented by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Caregiver Day on September 20 will feature a series of special workshops designed to support the loved ones who give so much.
Meet the Animals
Animals have become an intrinsic part of the disability community. Some are essential to the healing process, while others help their human partners become more independent. Expo-goers will enjoy assistance dog demos and learn how these clever canines can improve quality of life.
Celebrity Encounters
Wheelchair dance sensation Walk and Roll Dance Team, including Push Girls' Chelsie Hill and Glee's Ali Stroker will perform some exciting numbers.
Famous cosplayer Misa On Wheels will host the first-ever Abilities Cosplay Parade. Her message that cosplay is for all regardless of physical ability or body type has earned her an online following of tens of thousands of people.
After being trapped in a vegetative state for nearly four years, Victoria Arlen rejoined the world with a vengeance.
