The Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta is the largest intercollegiate regatta in North America and boasts an annual corporate challenge race which sees local businesses battle it out along a 500 meter course. Crews of 8 begin preparing for the races from February onwards and are tutored by qualified rowing coaches throughout their training.
This year, the Regatta Organizing Committee is making facilities available to up to 40 corporate crews to train for the big race in May. Jack Galloway, Chairman of the Dad Vail Regatta Organizing Committee said "Participating in the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta Corporate Challenge is a great way for businesses to become involved in a much loved local event. The team spirit and bonding that comes of training for and participating in the event adds huge value to any corporation and obviously is a great way for employees to get fit, learn a new sport and have great fun".
Marshall added: "Aberdeen Asset Management has entered crews for the past two consecutive years and I can speak from personal experience when I say it has been a tremendous success, not just for team morale in and around our HQ right here in Philadelphia (and for colleagues watching from overseas) but it's also done a great job in firing the firm's competitive spirit!"
