Aberdeen Introduces Three New Multi-Asset Funds
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Aberdeen Asset Management announces the introduction of the Aberdeen Dynamic Allocation Fund, the Aberdeen Diversified Income Fund and the Aberdeen Diversified Alternatives Fund. These funds were created on September 24, through the reorganization and renaming of Aberdeen's previous range of "Optimal Allocation" target risk funds.
"As a truly global asset management company, we believe that Aberdeen is well qualified to manage diversified multi-asset portfolios, utilizing the widest of opportunity sets," said Gary Marshall, Chief Executive, Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. "Our newly restructured multi-asset range brings three clear outcome-orientated strategies to investment advisors, helping them meet real world client needs in today's demanding investing climate."
These multi-asset funds will be managed in Philadelphia by the Aberdeen Solutions investment team, responsible for $37 billion of assets under management globally as of June 30th, 2012. Built with a fund of funds structure, the three funds share the following common features:
- A global orientation offering diversification by geography across both traditional and non-traditional asset classes.
- A strategic long-term approach blended with dynamic responsiveness to market events.
- Complementary architectures that combine Aberdeen's strengths with quality third-party offerings.
- A blend of active and passive approaches designed to offer a cost-effective approach to broad asset class diversification.
"Since the financial crisis, thoughtful investors have recognized the need for widening the strategic allocations of their portfolios beyond traditional U.S.-centric asset classes, while also being cognizant of the important role played by the timely execution of those exposures," said Nigel Storer, Head of U.S. Development, Aberdeen Solutions.
Richard Fonash, Aberdeen Solutions Senior Investment Manager, comments, "Aberdeen's global footprint is a key competitive advantage. Combining proprietary internal research with our wide-ranging approach to asset class selection enables the investment team to build what we believe are some of the most interesting mutual fund portfolios currently available to investors."
