AARP Idaho State President Headed to State of the Union
Boise Resident, Peggy Munson, Set to Be Senator Mike Crapo's Guest for Event
BOISE, Idaho, Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- While the eyes of the nation are glued on Washington, D.C. tomorrow night for the President's State of the Union Address, a Boise woman will have one of the best seats in the House, the U.S. House that is, for the historic event. As a guest of Senator Mike Crapo, Peggy Munson, AARP Idaho State President, will attend the State of the Union in person.
"This is truly an honor, and I thank Senator Crapo for giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the State of the Union first hand," said Peggy Munson, who currently serves as the volunteer State President for AARP in Idaho. "I'm proud and honored to attend as a representative of AARP."
Munson, a retired nurse, is an Idaho native who raised her family in Weiser before moving to Boise. She was appointed State President for AARP, a volunteer position, in Idaho in 2008 and is currently serving her second term in that position.
The State of the Union will take place at 7 p.m. Mountain (6 p.m. Pacific) tomorrow. Munson will be available for comment following the event.
AARP is Idaho's largest membership organization with 180,000 members.
