AAPC Moves 18th Annual National Conference to Jacksonville, Fla.
Recent flooding in Nashville required change of venue
SALT LAKE CITY, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) announced today that it has moved its 2010 National Conference to Jacksonville, Fla. due to recent flooding in Nashville, Tenn. The conference will be held on the original dates of June 6–9 at the Prime Osborn Convention center in downtown Jacksonville, Fla. Alternative locations in and around Nashville were considered. However, availability and size restrictions could not accommodate the event. Scheduled events including keynote presentations, breakout sessions and meetings are expected to remain as scheduled.
"I am pleased that we were able to find an excellent alternative location that allows us to keep the dates while benefiting attendees and their schedules," said Reed Pew, CEO of the AAPC. "Our hearts and prayers go out to our members and all citizens of Nashville with the hope that the recovery efforts will move quickly for everyone affected."
The AAPC's 2010 National Conference offers valuable information on a variety of topics including ICD-10-CM implementation, compliance issues in medical record documentation and recovery audits. This year's event includes more than 60 educational sessions in 8 tracks covering many specialties. Attendees will take away an increased understanding of what it takes to avoid the pitfalls of lost revenue and will receive up to 18 CEUs or 15.75 CMEs planned for the event.
