AAMCO Franchise Lawsuit Dismissed

ATLANTA, Ga., Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, a mid-sized firm with an integrated collection of exceptional boutique practices covering a broad range of industries, announced the dismissal of a class action lawsuit filed against its franchise client, AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. and certain of its affiliates and executives (collectively, "AAMCO").

The dismissed case, Gustavo Soto and Thomas W. Furlong, Jr. v. AAMCO Transmissions, Inc., et al., involved plaintiffs – two former AAMCO franchisees – claiming violations of federal law against AAMCO based on alleged events during the process of purchasing franchises and the course of the franchise relationships. To counteract these claims, Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs filed a comprehensive motion to dismiss the case on AAMCO's behalf. Rather than opposing the motion, the plaintiffs sought permission from the court to dismiss the lawsuit.

Last year, a similar class action lawsuit against AAMCO was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiffs following a comprehensive motion filed by Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs.
