AAM Completes Initial Certification of Adobe® Digital Publishing Suite
Certification Verifies Measurement Processes, App Metrics Produced by Suite
NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Alliance for Audited Media, formerly the Audit Bureau of Circulations, has completed an initial audit of Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), a solution that many AAM publisher members use to create and distribute tablet and smartphone editions of their publications. DPS is the first digital publishing software solution to be certified by AAM.
AAM has tested and certified the platform's analytic processes and key metrics captured by the Adobe Content Viewer, which is part of Digital Publishing Suite. These analytics are used to measure reader interactions with digital publications. AAM's certification of the Adobe platform and processes will enable more frequent and timely auditing and reporting for members that use DPS to create, publish and measure their mobile apps.
Earlier this year, AAM began working with Adobe and several of its magazine members to test and audit metrics provided by the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. AAM verified systems controls within the app development process and the integrated analytics captured via the Adobe Content Viewer and delivered through Adobe SiteCatalyst. AAM also worked with several publishers that use DPS to test how the system measures and reports the number of readers, the number of content views and the total time spent within a magazine.
As a result of the certification, AAM expects a more streamlined reporting process for its publisher members that use DPS to track and report their digital metrics on multi-channel products, such as AAM's Consolidated Media Report (CMR). This report format allows media companies to present a full, verified picture of their audience and circulation stats from a variety of cross-media platforms. AAM is seeing growing demand for reliable, verified tablet and mobile app metrics. More than 100 publications have released CMRs in 2012, which is more than double the previous year.
"We are pleased to announce the initial certification of Adobe Digital Publishing Suite," said Eric John, vice president, AAM digital services. "The certification confirms the platform adheres to industry standards for interactive content measurement processes and delivers the transparency that's so necessary in digital and mobile advertising today. Our certification of DPS provides publishers and their advertisers with an additional level of trust in the metrics produced through the service, while ultimately enabling more timely data for publishers' reports. Metrics from Adobe Digital Publishing Suite that are verified by AAM help build a true ecosystem of trusted multi-channel data for both buyers and sellers."
"Adobe Digital Publishing Suite is the first publishing software solution to be certified by AAM, a long trusted source of standards verification and audit services," said Zeke Koch, Senior Director of Product Management, Digital Publishing, Adobe. "We are honored by AAM's certification. This first stage of collaboration will bring publishers and advertisers closer to achieving the common goal of accurately measuring consumption and engagement of digital issues, and delivering verified data that is critical to the industry as a whole."
Adobe plans to have AAM audit its DPS systems on a yearly basis and to expand the scope of its review to include additional metrics in the future.
