AAHFN Prepares For National Nurses Week Celebration
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., May 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN), along with the American Nurses Association (ANA), supports and encourages programs – through state and district nurses associations, other specialty nursing organizations, educational facilities, and independent health care companies and institutions – recognizing National Nurses Week, which will be celebrated May 6 – 12, 2010.
"Promoting Nurses Week is a great way to increase public awareness of the vital work nurses do every day," said AAHFN President Sue Wingate, RN, Ph.D., CRNP. "AAHFN members are great examples of the powerful work nurses do to help patients with heart failure feel better, live longer and manage the complexities of their illness."
In honor of National Nurses Week, AAHFN would like to recognize not only the work of Heart Failure Nurses, but all nurses for their dedication to their practice to promote optimal patient outcomes – because behind every patient is a great nurse. During this year's National Nurses Week, AAHFN asks its members to wear their AAHFN membership pin proudly.
Traditionally, National Nurses Week is devoted to highlighting the diverse ways in which registered nurses, the largest health care profession, are working to improve health care. From bedside nursing in hospitals and long-term care facilities to the halls of research institutions, state legislatures and Congress, the depth and breadth of the nursing profession is meeting the expanding health care needs of American society.
