Set to debut in 2016, this international, peer-reviewed publication will showcase applied research on clinically relevant laboratory topics as well as commentary on the practice of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
From making critical decisions about cancer treatment to screening for high cholesterol levels, heart disease, and other disorders, lab professionals provide vital, trusted answers that make a difference in a patient's quality of life. With The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine, AACC strives to help lab professionals discover new adaptive solutions to patient health problems and to inspire breakthroughs in the field. In addition to focusing on applied laboratory medicine studies, the new journal will consider for publication submissions on laboratory methods, management, best practices, and appropriate test utilization. It will also provide a forum for discussion of policy and regulatory issues that impact the field.

The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine will begin accepting submissions in September. The types of submissions considered will include original research articles; review articles; case reports; consensus recommendations, approved position statements, white papers, and guidelines; technical briefs; editorial or opinion pieces; conference proceedings; letters; and book and media reviews.
