Digital Book World recognizes AAA guide for excellence in the non-fiction category
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AAA's Las Vegas eTourBook(SM) guide was awarded the 2012 Non-Fiction Publishing Innovation Award from Digital Book World. The Publishing Innovation Awards honor publishers of the most innovative ebooks, enhanced ebooks and book apps in 14 categories. The organization announced the winners of the Second Annual Publishing Innovation Awards during the opening ceremonies for its annual conference in New York City on January 23.
The award was accepted by Nancy Jones, Content and Product Development Manager, AAA. "There are many great ebooks available in the marketplace, and we are thrilled to have the hard work and creativity of our development team recognized here today," said Jones.
Currently 91 AAA eTourBook guides are available, with ten additions planned for release by the end of February. Each title in the series highlights a top North American travel destination and provides detailed destination information, listings for AAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants, AAA Editor's Picks for attractions, events and nightlife, and other proprietary travel information available exclusively through AAA. The guides are refreshed daily to ensure that members get the latest available information at the time of download. AAA members can download eTourBook guides for free at AAA.com/ebooks
"AAA members have relied on the printed TourBook® guides for nearly a century and, more recently, AAA's online travel listings. Now we recognize the need for travelers to also interact with us via the wireless devices they are already packing for their trips," added Jones.
In addition to winning the Publishing Innovation Award, AAA's Las Vegas eTourBook guide, along with titles for Orlando and Grand Canyon National Park, also received Digital Book World's new QED designation. QED stands for Quality, Excellence and Design. It is a quality assurance program conducted on all ebooks entered into the Publishing Innovation Awards, and was designated for 85 titles.
As North America's largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides nearly 53 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers. AAA clubs can be visited on the Internet at AAA.com.
