A-Rod's Lawsuit Against MLB Supported By Famed Fathers' Rights Attorney Jeffery Leving on Fox Sports Radio
CHICAGO, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading Chicago divorce lawyer Jeffery Leving (http://dadsrights.com) will join host Mike North this Sunday, January 26th at 8:30 AM CST/9:30 EST on Fox Sports Radio - XM 247 (NATIONAL) for an in-depth analysis of the latest developments in A-Rod's lawsuit against Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). Specifically, Leving will provide insight into recent reports that many members of the player's union wanted to allegedly kick Rodriguez out of the association after he filed suit. This interview can also be heard on iHeart radio.
According to ESPN.com, several MLBPA members were angered when Rodriguez sued the association alleging it "breached its duty of fair representation." Further, during a recent conference call, numerous players reportedly demanded Rodriguez be kicked out of the union. However, such expulsion isn't allowed.
Rodriguez filed the lawsuit against the MLBPA following last week's arbitration ruling that he should be penalized for 162 games and the entire 2014 post-season for his use of performance enhancing drugs. As the result of this litigation, the union will be required to spend substantial sums of money defending itself.
Leving, who has represented numerous professional athletes notes, "This is a difficult circumstance. While A-Rod has many detractors, his right to challenge perceived unfairness through the appropriate legal channels must be preserved whether he wins or loses. The union should stand behind A-Rod just as it should support any player who seeks justice."
All MLB players are members of the union, and should be offered equal protection.
