A Restaurant With a Cause Celebrates New Name: 'The Orange Dog Bar and Grill'
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Jan. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 22, 2011 "The Salty Dog Bar and Grill" will officially change its name to "The Orange Dog Bar and Grill". The name change embraces the Canadian charity that was created in 2008 by Jan Folk. She started Orange Dog as an online meeting place where animal lovers can share their stories and purchase products, with all of the earnings going to her California Freedom Flights.
When Kevin Klaess (owner) and Jan Folk (investor) started the restaurant in Huntington Beach, California, it seemed natural for it to have a theme and a purpose. From the time of their August 2010 opening the reaction to this restaurant with a cause has been overwhelmingly positive. Whether it is word of mouth in the local community or its international acclaim, thanks to the "The Opener" on Canada's Food Network, this establishment has a following.
In January Mr. Klaess and Ms. Folk decided to take the restaurant with a cause one step further by changing the name thus incorporating Orange Dog in Canada. The goal is to create more of a platform for the charity bringing awareness to a need.
The restaurant is located in beautiful Huntington Beach, California and seats 160 people, features big screens for viewing ease, and offers nightly entertainment, a dog wall and Orange Dog products.
The menu combines Chef Kevin Klaess' culinary delights such as his famous "Wings of the World TM", Pulled Pork Quesadilla, tasty Sliders with his special dessert, Nanaimo Bar.
