COLUMBUS, Ga., Nov. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the company that pays cash benefits to policyholders fast when they are sick or hurt, and Macy's are helping consumers with their holiday shopping lists while also allowing them to give back to their communities. For the tenth consecutive year, Aflac and Macy's are selling the plush Aflac Holiday Duck to continue Aflac's fight against pediatric cancer. This year's Holiday Duck is dressed in a light blue scarf and hat. The duck itself is adorned with a snowflake and when squeezed makes the famous sound "Aflaaac." These adorable plush ducks may be purchased at select Macy's locations and at Aflacholidayduck.com beginning Monday, November 1, 2010.

"Aflac understands the importance of giving back to one's community and is a strong advocate in the fight against pediatric cancer. This year marks the tenth year of this program, making this year's Aflac Holiday Duck a very special milestone for us here at Aflac," said Aflac's Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Zuna.
The Aflac Holiday Duck comes in a six-inch version for $10 and a 10-inch for $15. 100 percent of the proceeds are distributed to one of the nearest 40 participating pediatric cancer hospitals in the region in which purchased. Since the introduction of the Aflac Holiday Duck program in 2001, the Aflac Holiday Duck has raised nearly $3 million for pediatric cancer research and treatment.
"We are excited to join Aflac for the tenth consecutive year in the fight against pediatric cancer. The fact that 100 percent of the proceeds go to local children's hospitals in the region in which sold, allows consumers to give back to the community in such a heart warming way," said Macy's President and Regional Director of Stores, Michael Krauter. "The Aflac Holiday Ducks have become a favorite holiday collectible item for both our customers and associates. This year over 200 Macy's stores will participate in this initiative, allowing us to support a total of 40 children's hospitals across the nation."
