UTICA, N.Y., June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Utica College's Economic Crime Management online master's degree program will now be called Financial Crime and Compliance Management in order to more accurately reflect the nature of the program.
Suzanne Lynch, program director, said, "The new name better describes what our students learn. The high-quality curriculum and goals of the program remain the same; the name change simply assists graduates in relating and articulating all they've learned in the classroom to their careers."
This unique program is the first of its kind and combines management, technology and analytical techniques with the knowledge and understanding of economic crime on a global scale. Students learn fraud and compliance risk management strategies, current economic crime challenges and how to apply innovative analytical and technological solutions. The program is designed to meet the growing demand for these professionals in areas of law enforcement, private corporations, the government and the military. See video here.
Since the establishment of the Economic Crime Management program in 1999, UC has become the first college in the nation to become an education partner with the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), a preeminent association for financial crime specialists. Now, Utica College's Executive Master of Science degree program in Financial Crime and Compliance Management is the only graduate level program of its kind in the nation.
Matthew Quinn, a graduate of the Utica College ECM program and now Deputy Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer at Santander Bank, said, "The need for professionals in areas of financial crime and compliance management is at an all-time high. Bringing those elements into the name of the program makes it much clearer as to what our students will learn and what our graduates can do."
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, a minimum of 3.0 GPA and have three to five years of experience. International applicants must meet minimum score requirements on the TOEFL exam.
