A New Multi-Language Chinese Channel Landing in Hawaii on July 10th
NEW YORK, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television, an independent Chinese TV broadcaster based in New York, is launching its first multi-language channel in Hawaii. NTD's 24/7 programming will be available on Oceanic Time Warner Cable, channel 698, to more than 220,000 digital subscribers in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai and the Big Island.
The launch comes 8 months after NTD landed on Time Warner's digital cable network in New York City. In addition to Chinese programming in Mandarin and Cantonese, "we plan to make our programming more localized by adding local content and more English programming," said Samuel Zhou, NTD's Senior Vice President of public relations and development. "Our multi-language programming has grown rapidly in the past year. Hawaii is such a culturally diverse place and we're very happy that Hawaiian viewers can benefit from our growth."
"We are thrilled to partner with NTD Television. The unique, quality programming that this partnership provides really does compliment the current Time Warner Cable channel line-up," said Alan Pollock, Time Warner Cable Marketing Vice President. "The addition of NTD Television means even more cultural programming choices to Time Warner Cable customers across Hawaii."
Since starting broadcast in North America in February 2002, NTD has expanded its footprint globally via cable, satellite and the Internet over the years and reaches 100 million potential viewers. With over 60% of its programming locally produced and 50 news reporting teams worldwide, NTD has positioned itself as a leading Chinese TV broadcaster with multi-language capabilities.
