DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Lemon Tree Grocer will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 20th at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate its grand opening. Lemon Tree Grocer officially opened for business on August 13, 2010. Located at 5101 Mochel Drive, the new neighborhood "food emporium" features a full service sandwich and salad bar, fresh, flown-in seafood, one of the last "journeyman" butcher counters, hand-made sushi and a full menu of chef - prepared meals. Lemon Tree also features an extensive artisan cheese selection and a barista serving coffee and espresso. The produce is an assortment of locally grown goods along with exotic, international offerings.
Lemon Tree Grocer is located in the heart of Downers Grove directly across from the Metra Station. As you enter the store you are immediately greeted with a neighborhood welcome. The first stop is the "Lunch Line-up," a full service sandwich and salad bar prepared by an on-site chef with the freshest ingredients available. Owners Tim Canning and Shaun Black are working with the best local suppliers to make sure all Lemon Tree products are of the highest quality available.
To the back of the store is the seafood and butcher counter. The Lemon Tree butchers and seafood experts are ready to prepare whatever cut of meat or fresh fish catches your eye and give you cooking tips. No neighborhood grocery store is complete without an extensive cheese counter and Lemon Tree's cheese monger is passionate about cheese. The cheese counter features over 100 cheeses and if you are trying to find something new and different the Lemon Tree cheese monger will help steer you in the right direction.
Lemon Tree has seven culinary graduate chefs on-site to create and prepare gourmet meals to-go seven days a week. The chef-prepared meals are perfect for a weeknight or even weekend dinner for eat in or take home. An example of what Lemon Tree calls "gourmet TV dinner" is: red wine braised Colorado raised short ribs with horseradish whipped potatoes and crisp green beans. If Asian fare is your thing, the on-site sushi chef can make your traditional favorites or even the daily house specialty roll. In addition to all traditional grocery items, Lemon Tree also offers a large selection of beer and wine: over 750 wines are slated and more than 100 microbrews. Many of Lemon Tree's wines are under $10.
