A New Face For Flirting: Texting Gets Added Security and Sensuality With Plume
VENICE, Calif., Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Plume (www.theplumeapp.com) is a free messaging app meant to spice up your text life with nearly 400 unique emoji and stickers. Plume images are flirty, sensual and depict people of different races, sizes, ages, and sexualities.
"I was texting with a guy I really liked – and my phone didn't offer the emoji I needed," says Amy Galland, CEO of Plume. "I decided to create an app that had the images I needed in order to say what I wanted to say without having to switch between apps."
In a recent survey conducted by Plume, 73% of 18-35 year olds have sent a flirtatious text and 27% have sent texts with sexual images. Plume also found that 3 out of 4 people were concerned that someone would read their texts or see their photos.
What Makes Plume Different?
Plume offers discretion and security features that make your smartphone a safer place to flirt. Plume keeps your intimate content and photos in the app and incorporates features that include an optional password to open, auto log out, and the Boss button, which blacks out your screen with the push of a button.
"It was important to maintain two things: privacy and sensuality," continues Galland. "I wanted to create a safer place for people to share intimate thoughts and images as well as present respectful sensual imagery. It is my hope that as people use Plume images, they will be a counterexample to much of what we see in the media by showing a variety of bodies as beautiful, sexy, adored, and empowered."
In line with these values, the company will donate a percentage of profits to organizations providing education to women and girls and fighting for legal equality based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Plume is currently available to download and flirt for free for iOS in iTunes.
