A message by Solzhenitsyn and the Root Cause of Protest by "Occupy Wall Street"
As a construction consultant and expert witness, Paul Gogulski, CEO of Gogulski & Associates, Inc. has seen a 50% drop in the construction industry in his community as well as communities across the nation. Those participating in "Occupy Wall Street" and other "Occupy Movements" sparked instantaneous protests throughout the country aimed primarily at the wealthy. As stated by Mr. Gogulski: "A closer look reveals this protest is more than a issue between the '1%' and the '99%.' This represents the warnings stated by Alexander Solzhenitsyn in his commencement address of 1978 at Harvard in which he described America's abandonment of values sacred to our founders as the root cause of our decline as a nation," states Mr. Gogulski. "For that, he was nearly 'booed' off the speaker's platform." (Source: Paul Gogulski). Solzhenitsyn was so humiliated from that day at Harvard that he sold his property in Vermont and returned to Russia, where he resided until passing away.
"Solzhenitsyn compared our abandonment of values rooted in religion with the same error in judgment that destroyed the Tsarist autocracy in 1917 and led to the creation of the Soviet Union," says Paul. "How strange to observe the truth of his warning in the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement." (Source: Paul Gogulski).
Companies such as Paul Gogulski's are feeling the effects of what this economy has become, and are not comfortable with the proposed solutions. "Those running for President have not sufficiently addressed the root cause of our continued decline as a nation as stated by individuals with insight and ethics like Solzhenitsyn, nor have they come close to addressing the systemic problems implied by the Occupy Wall Street protests." (Source: Paul Gogulski). "The reality of a flawed and weakened belief system goes beyond anything on the table for the present discussion."
"One manifestation of our failure attributable to a flawed belief system is the fact that Congress is incapable of self-correction on the scale necessary for effective change. Another includes the chasms of egos and philosophical differences between Republicans and Democrats that remain too large for any compromise." (Source: Paul Gogulski). These are the issues recognized both at the Wall Street protests and deep within our own psyche, but may not be addressed by the leaders of either party in Washington.
The Tea Party attempts to bring change through the democratic process, but could be limited by the very process itself. Gogulski states that, "The Occupy Wall Streeter's recognized this limitation, and also recognized that the deck is stacked against any significant change by a consortium of lobbyists, professional politicians, entrenched agencies, the military elite, energy and oil interests, misguided environmentalists, anti-capitalists, internationalists, the unions, most of the State Department and the very large and very influential financial institutions." Further he states: "No matter how good the programs may sound as they are debated among the presidential candidates, the ugly truth is that any implementation for substantial change under the existing process guarantees failure. The wasted time by the Super Committee is sufficient evidence." (Source: Paul Gogulski).
"Coupled with the ever increasing financial meltdown, we are facing a public relations program designed to hide the truth, shield the guilty, and protect those who caused the most massive swindle of public trust in the history of the Western World. This is cause for more protest than what the occupiers of Wall Street started." (Source: Paul Gogulski).
Gogulski & Associates feels a stop order should be issued to rescind all new programs issued by this Congress, together with their associated regulations. "Until corruption is identified and acted upon by citizens selected by merit from their respective disciplines, we can't afford to proceed with business at as usual. Returning to the belief system upon which this country was founded won't be easy, but it is worth the price." (Source: Paul Gogulski).
