Analyst Update: Leadership Changes, Acquisitions, and Regulatory Updates
Reviewed by: Rohit Tuli, CFA®
The U.S. stocks finished lower on Friday as investor sentiments, which were positive after strong jobs report, turned jittery about the risky assets again due to fresh concerns about Greece. The worries flashed after S&P downgraded Greece's long-term sovereign debt rating from B to B-minus. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both fell 0.3% to close at 17,824.29 and 2,055.47, respectively. Whereas, the tech-heavy index Nasdaq Composite slid 0.4% to close at 4,744.40. However, despite Friday's slump in trading, the U.S. stock markets registered their best week in the past two years driven by investor optimism amid rising oil prices. In Europe, stocks dipped lower as momentum expected out of favorable U.S. data was offset by concerns surrounding the future of Greece and its bailout program. Asian markets ended mostly higher due to increased risk sentiments riding on the back of solid gain in the U.S. equities overnight and stabilizing crude oil price.
Independence Contract Drilling, Inc.'s (Independence Contract Drilling) Director Edward S. Jacob, III was elected as Chairman of International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) on November 14, 2014. Jacob was also recognized with the 2014 Contractor of the Year Award.

Ms. Hirschfeld has worked for 20 years with BP in leadership and executive roles in oil refining, logistics, exploration and production in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Turkey.
Ion Geophysical Corporation (Ion Geophysical) has promoted Steve Bate to CFO after the resignation of its Senior Vice President and CFO, Greg Heinlein. Prior to his new role, Mr. Bate has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company' Systems division.
Jones Energy, Inc. (Jones Energy) has acquired a contiguous block of 5,120 net acres in Hutchinson County, Texas, prospective for its primary drilling target, the Cleveland sandstone. Under the lease terms, Jones Energy has 100% working interest at all depths. The initial block represents 40 net drilling locations in the Cleveland formation or half a year of drilling inventory at current activity levels.
Joy Global Inc. (Joy Global), a worldwide leader in high-productivity mining solutions, has received a subpoena from SEC seeking information with respect to the Company's acquisition of International Mining Machinery Holdings Ltd. in 2012 and related accounting matters.
