A holiday gift to Cox high speed Internet customers
Cox launches 5,000 additional WiFi hotspots in Arizona
PHOENIX, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications announced today the launch of more than 5,000 new WiFi hotspots in Phoenix and Tucson, bringing the total Cox WiFi hotspot offering throughout Arizona to over 7,000 locations. These hotspots are strategically located in high-traffic areas like businesses, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and malls in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Fountain Hills, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise and Sun City West to name a few communities in the Valley. The timing could not be better as people are out shopping and traveling during the peak holiday season, once again bringing added value to Cox customers in Arizona.
"As additional travelers flock to the Valley, and shoppers abound this holiday season, Cox hotspots will help people stay connected to the devices and content that matter most," said John Wolfe, Senior Vice President & Region Manager, Cox Communications Southwest. "Whether it's finding a restaurant, tracking down a gift, or staying connected with loved ones back home — Cox's Internet service extends far beyond the home."
There are now more than 10,000 Cox WiFi hotspots nationwide that qualifying Cox customers with Preferred, Premier and Ultimate Internet packages can connect to. In addition, Cox's collaboration with other cable providers, called CableWiFi, offers Cox customers access to the nation's largest WiFi network of more than 400,000 hotspots across the country.
"WiFi plays an important role in keeping people mobilized," said Wolfe. "By adding these additional hotspots, Cox is able to deliver reliable high-speed Internet service to our customers in their homes and on the go. Cox is committed to providing solutions not only for today but also for the future."
Cox WiFi hotspots can be found by entering a user's location at www.cox.com/hotspots. Users can also click on a WiFi icon on the map or download the Cox Connect app for iPhone and Android devices to immediately access directions to or from the specific WiFi hotspot address. Once a user has logged onto a Cox WiFi or Cable WiFi hotspot, his or her wireless device will automatically recognize and logon to other Cox WiFi and Cable WiFi hotspots for up to two years.
